“Everything Everywhere All at Once” se convirtió en la gran triunfadora de la edición 95 de los Oscar de la Academia al ganar los premios a Mejor Película, Director, Actriz Principal, Actriz Secundaria, Actor Secundario, Edición, Guión Original, llevándose en total siete estatuillas doradas de las 11 a las que estaba aspirando.
“Everything Everywhere All at Once”, la cinta que muchos consideraban como la fuerte apuesta para llevarse el codiciado galardón de este año en la categoría principal de la competencia, no defraudó cumpliendo de esta manera con el pronóstico del crítico del Times, Glenn Whipp.
El premio al mejor actor se lo adjudicó Brendan Fraser por su trabajo en “The Whale”, mientras que el galardón a mejor actriz fue para Michelle Yeoh por “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Cate Blanchett (“Tár”), que era otra de las favoritas, se quedó con las ganas al igual que Ana de Armas (“Blonde”), Andrea Riseborough (“To Leslie”) y Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans”).
En la terna a mejor director el premio se lo llevaron Daniel Kwan y Daniel Scheinert por su trabajo en “Everything Everywhere All at Once” y esta manera superaron a Martin McDonagh (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Ruben Ostlund (“Triangle of Sadness”) y al laureado Steven Spielberg (“The Fabelmans”).
El premio al actor secundario se lo llevó Ke Huy Quan por su trabajo en “Everything Everywhere All at Once”), dejando en el camino a Brendan Gleeson (“The Banshees of Inisherin”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Causeway”), Judd Hirsch (“The Fabelmans”) y Barry Keoghan (“The Banshees of Inisherin”). Huy Quan es recordado por su trabajo en la cinta “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” cuando era un niño.
Michelle Yeoh ha hecho historia en Hollywood al convertirse en la primera actriz asiática en ganar el Oscar 2023 a la Mejor Actriz por su papel en “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. En su discurso, Yeoh expresó su esperanza en que su victoria sirva como un ejemplo para todos aquellos que sueñan en grande, y les instó a nunca dejar que nadie les diga que han pasado su mejor momento.
Entre tanto el galardón a la actriz de reparto se lo adjudicó, de manera sorpresiva, pero muy celebrada por la audiencia, la actriz Jamie Lee Curtis por su papel en “Everything Everywhere All at Once”), el cual fue festejado igualmente por su compañera de reparto Stephanie Hsu. La favorita en esta categoría era la actriz Angela Bassett por su papel en la cinta de Marvel “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, pero fue la veterana Lee Curtis quien termnó alzándose con la estatuilla dorada.
Y en el apartado a Película Internacional, una de las nuestras entraba la pelea (“Argentina, 1985” (Argentina), pero fue superada por la favorita “All Quiet on the Western Front” (Alemania).
El mexicano Guillermo del Toro se hizo del premio a la Cinta Animada por su trabajo en “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio”, logrando de esta manera el tercer Oscar personal de su carrera.
La cantante Rihanna interpretó con mucho sentimiento el tema “Lift Me Up”, de la banda sonora de la cinta “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, en el escenario del Dolby. Entre tanto, Rahul Sipligunj y Kaala Bhairava se llevaron la energía de la música de Bollywood al escenario con “Naatu Naatu” de Chandrabose y MM Keeravaani de la cinta “RRR”.
Por su parte, David Byrne, Son Lux y Stephanie Hsu le dieron voz a “This Is a Life”, tema musical de la película “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, mientras que la joven cantante Sofia Carson y Diane Warren unieron sus talentos para interpretar “Applause”, tema musical de la película “Tell It Like A Woman”.
Se había anunciado que la nominada Lady Gaga no cantaría durante el show, pero la ganadora del Oscar sí interpretó su tema “Hold My Hand”, de la película “Top Gun: Maverick” en el escenario del Dolby Theater vestida totalmente informal. La actriz y cantante ha estado grabando su nueva película “Joker”, pero apareció en Los Ángeles para cantar el tema que nació en su estudio de grabación que tiene en su garage. Al fondo se observaba una fotografía del fallecido Tony Scott y el actor Tom Cruise.
Y finalmente, el cantante ganador del Grammy Lenny Kravitz ofreció una emotiva interpretación a piano en el segmento “In Memoriam” como tributo a las figuras vinculadas al mundo del cine que ya no están con nosotros como Olivia Newton John, Albert Brenner, Irene Papas, Ian Whitaker, Ray Liotta, Kirstie Allen, Amanda Mackey, Mary Alice, Douglas Kirkland, James Caan, Gina Lollobrigida y Rashel Welch, entre otros. Sin embargo, hubo algunas que fueron olvidadas.
